It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leslie “Googles” Cole. Mr. Cole was a past Mayor for many years and most recently an Alderman for the Town of Fulton. He was recently awarded with a well-deserved Hometown Hero award.
Mr. Cole was the original founder of the Fulton Volunteer Fire Department in 1948 and is also the founder of Fulton Oysterfest.
Mr. Cole, thank you for your dedicated commitment to the Fulton community that you loved so much; it will not be the same without you! We will miss you greatly.
We ask you please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.

Governor Abbott has heard from members of the community and the legislature on this issue. Communities and families are still recovering from Hurricane Harvey, and the Governor believed that a rate increase at this time would negatively impact residents of the Gulf Coast. The Governor believed it was necessary to delay any decision to approve or disapprove the proposed rate increase, and until the Legislature has had a full opportunity to address the matter.
